December 10, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Calgary Hitmen News Release

Zac Funk snapped a 2-2 third period tie with 4:22 remaining to power the Calgary Hitmen to a 4-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades on Friday night at SaskTel Centre.

Funk had a knack for timely goals on this night as he also scored in the final minute of the first period to break a 1-1 tie. Adam Kydd and Riley Fiddler-Schultz, into an empty net, rounded out the Hitmen attack with Sean Tschigerl chipping in a pair of assists.

The victory was Calgary's sixth straight at SaskTel Centre dating back to 2018 and ran their point streak to seven games with a combined record of 4-0-2-1 during that span.

Playing their first home game in over a month because of the Tim Hortons Canadian Olympic Curling Trials, Kyle Crnkovic and Jayden Weins tallied the Saskatoon markers.

The Hitmen outshot the Blades 31-25 as goaltender Brayden Peters made 23 saves to record the win.

Calgary will now prepare to complete their mini two-game Saskatchewan tour tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 11 in Prince Albert against the Raiders. It's then back to Alberta to host the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday, Dec. 15. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome.
