Frostbite's Kris Tebbs Named UHL Goaltender of the Week

Glens Falls, NY – Goaltender Kris Tebbs of the Adirondack Frostbite has been selected as the Southern Sports Supply United Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending February 20th. It is the first time this season the native of Calgary, Alberta has received the league's weekly honor. Tebbs posted a record of 3-0 with a goals against average of 1.67 in three games during the week.

Tebbs picked up a 6-1 victory over the Danbury Trashers Wednesday night allowing only a first period goal. In the game he stopped 21 of 22 shots. Friday, Tebbs beat Elmira 4-3 stopping 32 of 35 shots and Saturday topped the Jackals again, the second time with a 5-1 victory blocking 31 of 32 shots.

Tebbs took over the starting role on February 2nd against the Danbury Trashers after Frostbite goaltender Derek Gustafson went down with an injury. In only his second pro start he picked up a 3-0 shutout. Since joining the Frostbite out of the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Tebbs has a 10-2 record with a goals against average of 2.45 and a save percentage at 91.7.

Tebbs is the third Frostbite player to be named either the UHL Player or Goaltender of the week. Belanger was previously named the UHL Sher-Wood Player of the Week, while Gustafson was previously named the UHL Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the week.

Adirondack returns to action Wednesday against the Danbury Trashers at the Danbury Ice Arena. Game starts at 7:30PM and all the action can be heard on 98.5 WCKM beginning with the pre-game show at 7:20PM. The Frostbite return home Sunday, February 27th to take on the Danbury Trashers.
