Adirondack Frostbite News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY -- The Adirondack Frostbite dropped back-to-back games for the first time this season, as they fell to the Danbury Trashers 3-0 on Friday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Adirondack is now 0-4-0 against Danbury this season.
After over a period and a half of scoreless play, the Trashers got on the scoreboard at 14:01 of the second period. Shawn Collymore led a 3-on-1 rush across the Frostbite line, and slid a rink-wide pass to Drew Omicioli in the right-wing circle. Omicioli slid a quick wrist shot past the glove of Kris Tebbs for his 10th goal of the season.
Danbury doubled its lead 5:10 into the final period, scoring a shorthanded goal. Jeff Daw's shot from the top of the right-wing circle hit off the post, and the rebound came in front to Alex Goupil. Tebbs made the save on Goupil's first shot, but the second shot eluded the Frostbite goaltender to make it 2-0.
The Trashers added another goal to their lead at 14:45. Tebbs came out to the right-wing circle to try to cut off a pass, but Daw was able to skate around the Frostbite goaltender, and put the puck into the open net for his fourth of the season.
The Frostbite penalty-kill unit had another stellar night in the loss, denying Danbury on all seven of its power-play opportunities. Adirondack has now killed off 38 of the last 40 opposition chances on the man advantage.
Adirondack's four-game home stand concludes on Saturday, as they once again host the Trashers at 7:35 p.m. Following the game, the Frostbite will hold their second post-game skate of the season. Tickets are available at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office, or by calling (518) 798-0202.
