Mallards Add Muscle in Trade for Kalamazoo's Jonathan Tremblay

Moline, IL-Quad City Mallards Head Coach and General Manager Brian Curran announced today that the team has acquired forward Jonathan Tremblay from the Kalamazoo Wings in exchange for a selection in the fifth round of the UHL waiver draft.

Tremblay has appeared in nine pro games this year including eight with Kalamazoo and a single appearance with the ECHL's Toledo Storm. The 6-foot-3, 245 pound winger has 20 penalty minutes on the season.

Last year as a rookie, Tremblay played 46 games with the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs and recorded 136 penalty minutes with two goals and three assists for five points. He also earned a one-game recall with the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League.

Tremblay spent three seasons with the Acadie Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (2001-04) before turning pro. He played 124 games with Acadie Bathurst recording 553 penalty minutes while scoring three goals with one assist for four points.

Tremblay is expected to make his Mallards debut on Friday in Flint.

The Mallards game vs. Flint on Friday night begins at 6:35 p.m. central time.

The game will be broadcast LIVE at The Lodge in Bettendorf via the B2 networks. The Mallards Pre-Game Show begins at 6:10 p.m. on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230. During the intermissions, stay tuned for the Swiss Valley Farms Intermission Report. After the game, the Allstate Insurance Christy Cox Post- Game Show is on the air.
