'Frogs Sail by Rafters, End Losing Skid

The Bullfrogs stormed past the Rafters early on Wednesday, and the bullpen finished it out late as Green Bay snapped a seven game losing streak with an 8-5 victory.

Offense dominated the game early. Taylor Stell led off the game with a double. After advancing to third on a ground out from Donnie Dewees, Jackson Slaid drove Stell in on a sacrifice fly, giving the Rafters a 1-0 lead after the first inning.

Green Bay joined the scoring column in the bottom of the second with an RBI single from Tripp Martin, scoring Nick Torres and tying the game at one.

The Bullfrogs came back in the bottom of the third and continued their scoring. A two RBI double from Boomer White was followed with a RBI single from Nick Torres, completing a three run third inning and giving the Bullfrogs a 4-2 lead after three innings.

White continued his success in the bottom of the fourth with a grand slam to left field scoring Trevin Sonnier, Jose Godinez and Robert Youngdahl. The grand slam closed out the scoring for the Bullfrogs on the night, giving them an 8-2 lead after the fourth at Joannes Stadium.

Donnie Dewees hit his first home run of the night in the third inning and was back at it in the fifth inning with two runners on base. Dewees hit his second round tripper of the night to right field for a three run home run, narrowing the Bullfrogs lead to 8-5 after five innings.

Ben Graff pitched three scoreless innings after relieving starter Bryce Bellin, maintaining the 8-5 lead for Green Bay.

Robert Youngdahl came in to pitch the ninth looking for his second save of the season. Youngdahl only allowed one hit in the frame to secure an 8-5 Bullfrogs win, their first of the second half of the season.

The win went to Bullfrogs starter Bryce Bellin (1-3), loss to Rafters starter Griffin Glaude (0-2) and save to Robert Youngdahl (2).

Green Bay returns home Friday, July 12th against Battle Creek with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Come out to Joannes Stadium for Salute to the Dairy Queen Dilly Bar and Frogtacular Fireworks Friday with KZ 104.3
