Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders finished off their 11th-straight win by beating the Midland RockHounds 3-1 on Tuesday night from Riders Field.
It wasn't until the fifth inning when the first run crossed the plate as Midland's (22-27) Nick Allen delivered a sacrifice fly, scoring Devin Foyle, giving the RockHounds the 1-0 lead.
An inning later in the sixth, Steele Walker jumpstarted the Riders (33-16) offense with an RBI single plating David Dahl and knotting the score at 1-1.
In the seventh, Anderson Tejeda broke the tie on a home run to left field, giving Frisco the 2-1 advantage.
Josh Jung turned in an insurance run in the eighth inning as he blasted a solo homer to left center field giving the Riders the lead 3-1 heading into the final frame.
It was more than enough for Stephen Villines as he earned his third save of the season, tossing 1.2 innings while striking out one.
The 11th-straight win for the RoughRiders came on the heels of a dominant performance from Yerry Rodriguez on the mound. Rodriguez turned in 4.1 innings of two hit baseball while striking out two RockHounds in a no decision.
Cole Uvila (1-1) earned his first win out of the bullpen throwing two innings and striking out two.
Zack Erwin (2-3) was hooked with his third loss of the year as he allowed two homers over his two frames.
