TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers (60-62) secured a 10-6 victory over the division-leading Fresno Grizzlies (70-53) on Thursday night in front of a sellout crowd at Cheney Stadium.

The Rainiers offense hammered 14 base hits and drew six walks on the night. Catcher David Freitas (2x4, 2 R, HR, 4 RBI) and designated hitter Ben Gamel (1x4, 2B, 3 RBI) drove in seven of Tacoma's 10 runs, while shortstop Zach Vincej (3x5, 2 R, 2B, RBI) and left fielder John Andreoli (2x4, 2 R, BB) both checked in with multiple hits.

Roenis Elias - on Major League rehab assignment from Seattle - started the game for Tacoma and worked a nine-pitch scoreless first inning with one strikeout. Scheduled starter Ross Detwiler followed from the bullpen and allowed four runs on six hits (two home runs) across 4.2 innings of work. Detwiler issued one walk and did not pick up a strikeout.

Nick Rumbelow (1.2 IP) and Shawn Armstrong (1.1 IP) both notched scoreless relief appearances and earned the win and the save, respectively - it was Rumbelow's first win and Armstrong's 13th save. Ryan Garton (0.1 IP) also made an appearance, allowing two runs on one hit.

Tacoma will turn to left-handed newcomer David Rollins (0-0, -.--) to make the start as the series against Fresno continues on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. PT. The Grizzlies will start right-hander Trent Thornton (8-8, 4.10).
