From the Notes
First at First: Anthony Garcia will play first base tonight for the Sounds. It is the fourth time in his career that he has played first base and the first time he has started at first. He played first base twice in 2010 with the GCL Cardinals and once in 2015 with Double-A Springfield. He has eight putouts in eight total chances in his career at first base.
It's All in the RISP: During their recent 15-game hitting streak the Sounds hit .323 (61-for-189) with runners in scoring position. In the last two games, however, both losses, the results have been a little different. In the last two games the Sounds are a combined 2-for-27 with runners in scoring position including a 1-for-19 performance last night.
Error Exploitation: The Sounds managed just two runs last night and both were the result of an error by Round Rock left fielder Scott Heineman. It was the first time this season the Sounds scored a run in a game and no Sounds player picked up an RBI.
Workhorse on the Mound: Tonight's starter for the Sounds, Eric Jokisch has been an innings-eater for the Sounds all season long. He has racked up 123 2/3 innings on the season, which is eighth in the Pacific Coast League. He has thrown over 95 pitches in each of his last five starts and over 100 in each of his last three starts. Jokisch has thrown over 100 pitches seven times this season, which is the most on the pitching staff.
