Michael Schierman of Spokane will cash in on a $1,000 Fred Meyer shopping spree on Monday, November 19th at 6:30 p.m. at the Fred Meyer located at 400 South Thor and help donate $500 to Second Harvest Inland Northwest.

Schierman won the prize during a series of competitions on Friday, November 9th when the Chiefs defeated the Kamloops Blazers 5-2 on Fred Meyer Shop with the Chiefs night. As a part of the promotion, he chose Chiefs' 19-year-old Mike Aviani to help carry the bags during the shopping spree.

Five contestants were selected from entries collected at the participating Fred Meyer locations and one was selected at the game. All six contestants participated in a series of promotions during the first and second intermissions for the right to win the prize.

As a part of the Fred Meyer Shop with the Chiefs, Fred Meyer and the Chiefs will donate a $500 check to Second Harvest Inland Northwest.

"The holiday season can be even more challenging for families who already are struggling to put food on the table," said Jason Clark, president and CEO of Second Harvest. "Our food bank network is feeding more people than ever before in our 41-year history and donations like this one from Fred Meyer and the Spokane Chiefs mean so much."
