Winterhawks Collecting Blankets, Toys & Food During Holiday Season

With the holiday season quickly approaching the Winterhawks are doing their part to help those in need. Over the next month, the team will be collecting blankets, toys & food at various games. The schedule is as follows:

Friday, November 23 - Blankets & Men's Socks

Winterhawks vs. Kootenay Ice, Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 3 p.m.

In addition to being the first Burgerville Daylight Classic of the season, the Winterhawks Booster Club will be collecting new and gently-used blankets, as well as new men's socks, for Union Gospel Mission.

Friday, November 30 - Toy Drive

Winterhawks vs. Seattle Thunderbirds, Rose Garden, 7 p.m.

The Winterhawks are taking part in the Les Schwab KPTV Toy Drive. Fans can purchase a new, unwrapped toy at Fred Meyer to donate to children in need, with the first 500 fans to bring a toy receiving a pass to shop at the adidas employee store.

Friday, December 14 - Food Drive

Winterhawks vs. Everett Silvertips, Rose Garden, 7 p.m.

The Winterhawks Booster Club will be hosting a food drive to benefit the Oregon Food Bank and the Sunshine Division. Fans are asked to bring a non-perishable food item.

Saturday, December 15 - Les Schwab Teddy Bear Toss

Winterhawks vs. Seattle Thunderbirds, Rose Garden, 7 p.m.

One of the most popular games of the year is the Les Schwab Teddy Bear Toss, where fans throw stuffed animals onto the ice after the Winterhawks' first goal of the game. The animals are then donated to local hospitals and children's charities.
