Blades Begin BC Trip Tonight; Team Documentary Airing Soon
November 16, 2012 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
The team departed for Prince George, BC on Wednesday night as they begin their 5-game BC Division road trip against the Cougars tonight!
The Blades will hope a return to the road will help them return to the win column as playing away from Saskatoon has been an area of success so far this year. This season the Saskatoon Blades have picked up 13 of their 17 points away from the Credit Union Centre, posting a road record of 6-4-0-1. Their .591 winning percentage on the road ranks them 4th in that category in the Eastern Conference.
The Blades are coming off of a 6-2 loss to the Seattle Thunderbirds in their last game, but still have points in 4 of their last 5 games overall.
For the Blades to have a successul road trip, they will have to battle through some adversity as the team is also missing 3 key players with injury. Jessey Astles continues to recover from a severe wrist injury that required surgery after 4 tendons were cut by a skate during a fight. Brett Stovin and Dalton Thrower are also nursing injuries and didn't make the trip to BC with the team. To help fill a hole, defenceman Nelson Nogier was recalled from the Saskatoon Contacts.
The Blades will return from this long road trip on November 25th, before doing battle at home against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on November 27th!
But, just because the team is away, doesn't mean there isn't a bunch of great Blades news and notes to be aware of. Take the time to read the information below to stay up to date with all things Blades hockey!
