The Frisco RoughRiders snapped an 11-game losing streak Tuesday night at Security Bank Ballpark with an 8-5 win over the RockHounds, and the methods by which the clubs scored the game's 13 runs could not have been more opposite.

On RockHounds Radio, we use the term "Frankenstein-ing" runs together (as in piece-by-piece), and the description fits. The RoughRiders scored three runs in the first and five in the seventh, with 16 batters coming to the plate in the process. The RockHounds, meanwhile, scored five runs "Bambino style," on four swings of the bat - - each a home run.

Frisco took a 3-0 lead in the first with Lewis Brinson's double to left-center driving in the game's first two runs.

The RockHounds countered on four swings, beginning with Chad Pinder's solo homer at the 394-foot sign in right-center in the second inning. Jaycob Brugman led off the third with a walk and Ryon Healy followed with a two-out, two-run line drive high over the left field bullpen, tying the game at 3-3. Renato Nuñez gave the 'Hounds the lead (4-3) with a mammoth home run to left leading off the fourth and, two pitches later, Pinder followed with his second solo shot of the game, this one onto the grass berm over the high wall in left field.

The Riders then batted around in the seventh to reclaim the lead. Healy, who (in addition to the two-run homer) had made a sensational defensive play, reaching into the second row of the stands for a foul ball in the fifth, committed a two-base throwing error to open the inning. Frisco then strung together three consecutive singles, with Preston Beck cutting the RockHounds' lead to 5-4. After the game-tying run scored on an Omar Duran wild pitch, Luis Mendez put Frisco ahead with a single to right and Trever Adams' two-run double capped the scoring.

The 'Hounds loaded the bases in the eighth against Adam Parks, with David Martinez then summoned from the bullpen. The league's leading closer faced Josh Whitaker, whose bid for a fifth 'Hounds home run fell just short in straightaway center field (at about 405 feet).

The RockHounds

... are 25-14 in the second half and 60-49 overall ... have won 8-of-their-last-11 ... are 14-7 in the season series with the RoughRiders (8-2 at home and 6-5 at Frisco) ... are 35-21 at Security Bank Ballpark and 25-28 on the road ... are 41-32 vs. the South Division and 19-17 vs. the North.

- Texas League South: The RockHounds' lead in the Texas League South is down to three games after first half champion Corpus Christi (22-17) defeated the Missions, 10-4, in San Antonio. Frisco (18-20) is within 6.5 games with San Antonio staying nine games back.

Kibbles & Bits

STAT OF THE DAY: Frisco has now snapped a pair of double-digit losing streaks with victories over the RockHounds. On May 19, a 15-7 win snapped a 12-game slide, powered by (Texas Rangers' top prospect) Joey Gallo, who had two home runs and six RBI.

- Winning pitcher Victor Payano had an unusual "line" for the night. The left-hander went six innings, allowing five runs (all earned) on just four hits, all home runs. The 22-year-old from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, walked three and struck out 10.

- Chad Pinder went 3-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs and had the only RockHounds hit not to leave the yard (an eighth-inning single). Chad has hit in eight straight games (13-for-34, .382) ... has hit in 26 of his last 27 games (44-116, .379) ... and is now hitting .321 for the year. His two home runs also boosted his RBI total to a Texas League-leading 64.

- Renato Nuñez is now part of a four-player tie for the league lead with 15 home runs and is hitting .421 (8-for-19) in his last five games.

- In his last seven games, Ryon Healy (1-for-4, 2-run HR) is 14-for-27 (.519) with three home runs and 12 RBI. Ryon has hit in 14-of-17 games (.394) and is hitting over .400 in his last 22 games (33-for-82, .402).
