Francis Verreault Named to All-Star Team

CONDORSTOWN - The ECHL announced today that Bakersfield Condors F Francis Verreault has been selected to participate in the 2013 ECHL All-Star Classic, to be held in Loveland, Colorado Jan. 22 - 23. The game will feature a team of ECHL All-Stars taking on the host team, the Colorado Eagles.

Verreault, 25, ranks 8th among rookie scorers in the ECHL, just five points off the league's rookie lead. He l eads the Condors in goals (10), assists (19) and points (29), an d also leads the team with 99 shots, is second with a +7 rating, and fourth with 59 penalty minutes. His stat totals include numbers put up with the Greenville Road Warriors, the team he started the season with. Verreault's debut with the Co ndors on Jan. 4 included a "Gordie Howe Hat Trick" with a goal, assist and a fight.

Verreault has at least one point in all six games he has played for Bakersfield, the longest scoring streak of the season for the Condors, with 3g-5a-8pts during that stretch.

The Roberval, Quebec native was acquired by the Condors on New Year's Eve in a trade with the Greenville Road Warriors. That trade also brought in D Kyle Haines and sent C Levi Nelson to Greenville. The duo have combined for 6g-6a since the trade.

Not including the 2010-11 Condors team that hosted the All-Star Classic, Verreault is the 17th different Condor to suit up in an All-Star Game.

About the ECHL All-Star Classic

The 2013 ECHL All-Star Week, presented by CCM, begins on Tuesday, Jan. 22 with the ECHL All-Star Skills Competition, presented by OtterBox, and continues with the ECHL All-Star Game presented by University of Colorado Health, featuring the Colorado Eagles taking on the ECHL All-Stars, on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Both events begin at 7:05 p.m. MT at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo.

The game will be available live on Altitude Sports & Entertainment, Buckeye Cable Sports Network in Ohio and GCI in Alaska. The game will be called by the Colorado Avalanche television crew, which consists of Mike Haynes (play-by-play), Peter McNab (color commentary) and Kyle Keefe (sideline reporter).

The broadcast of both the Skills Competition and the All-Star Game will also be available online worldwide through America One at www.americaone.com, free of charge.

Youth Jerseys and Cowboy Hats up next

The Condors will play the next seven games on the road over the next two weeks, starting this weekend with Friday and Saturday contests against the Utah Grizzlies. Tune in to Fox Sports Radio 970 AM for all the action.

They return home to host Colorado on Feb. 1 with Youth Jersey Giveaway Night, sponsored by KGET-TV 17, Hot Hits 93.1 and Rabobank. The first 2,000 kids 12 and under will get a Condors youth jersey featuring Alternate Captain Peter Boyd.

On Saturday, Feb. 2 they play Ontario again on Cowboy Hat Giveaway Night, sponsored by the Emporium Western Store. The first 2,000 fans 5 and older will get their choice between and tan or black Condors cowboy hat (while supplies last).
