Milwaukee Admirals News Release
ROSTER REVISIONS...The Nashville Predators reassigned Greg Koehler to the Admirals on Monday. Players currently not on the trip due to injury are Jason Beckett and Darren Haydar.
VS. RAMPAGE...Tonight, the Admirals take on the San Antonio Rampage at the brand new SBC Center. It's the fourth meeting of the year between the two teams. Milwaukee is 2-1-1-0 overall vs. the Rampage with the lone loss coming in Texas on 11/12. This is the inaugural season for San Antonio. The Rampage is the top developmental affiliate of the Florida Panthers.
VS. MIGHTY DUCKS...The Admirals travel to Cincinnati to play the Mighty Ducks Wednesday. The Admirals have not beaten the Ducks in Cincy over the past two seasons and are 0-1-3-0 in the four previous games at the Cincinnati Gardens. The last three games at the Gardens have ended in 3-3 ties. The two teams also skated to a 3-3 tie 10/25 at the Bradley Center.
VS. AMERICANS...Friday night, the Admirals take on the Rochester Americans in Rochester. It is the first of two games between the two teams this season. They meet again March 22nd at the Bradley Center. In their first two meetings in AHL history, the Admirals won at home and lost in overtime in Rochester last season.
VS. BARONS...Saturday night, the Admirals conclude their seven-game road trip when they take on the Cleveland Barons at the Gund Arena. It's the second meeting of the season and the first battle in Cleveland. The two teams skated to a 3-3 tie 10/18 at the Bradley Center.
ROAD WARRIORS...The Admirals have earned two points with a tie and an overtime loss through their first two games of a seven-game road trip. They lost in OT to Philadelphia Friday night in Philadelphia and tied Hershey 3-3 on Saturday. Milwaukee is 4-2-3-1 in ten road games overall this season and has outscored its road opponents 29-26.
REFUSE TO LOSE...Milwaukee leads the league with just two regulation losses. The Admirals were the last team in the league to lose in regulation. They also lead the league with six ties and nine overtime games.
DIVISION DYNAMOS...Through 11 games against West Division foes, Milwaukee is 8-1-1-1 and own winning records against all four opponents. The breakdown includes perfect marks against Utah (2-0-0-0) and Houston (1-0-0-0). The only losses have come to Chicago (3-0-0-1) and San Antonio (2-1-1-0).
DARREN TO BE GREAT...Despite missing the last three games due to injury, rookie Darren Haydar continues to lead the league's rookie scorers. The league's top rookie in October has scored 20pts and also leads the league's rookies in goals scored (10), shooting percentage (29.4) and +/- (+12). He is the team leader in scoring, goals, +/-, and game-winning goals (2). In claiming top rookie honors in October, the former University of New Hampshire star earned at least one point in every game and ended the month with 10pts (6g-4a), and was a +9 in six games.
CENTER OF ATTENTION...Center Greg Classen recorded his fourth multiple-point game Friday vs. Philadelphia with three points (1g-2a) and added an assist Saturday in Hershey. The former Merrimack College standout owns one of the team's two hat tricks (11/2 @ GR).
CLOSING THE DEAL...The Admirals have been great finishers this season. They have outscored their opponents in the third period 25-15. They have scored at least one goal in 16/18 third periods this season and have scored at least two third period goals in seven games. The Admirals have been outscored only four times in the third period this season.
BALANCING ACT...Twenty-one different Admirals have scored the team's 61 goals this season. Pascal Trepanier was the latest to be added to that list with a goal in Hershey Saturday.
DOIN' 65 IN A 60...Sixty minutes haven't been enough for the Admirals and their opponents this year. The Admirals have played three straight OT games. Nine of the team's 18 games have gone into overtime and six of those 18 games have ended in a tie. The Admirals are 1-2-6 in the nine overtime tussles. Ten previous times in team history the Admirals have played three straight overtime games. The team mark for consecutive overtime games is four set in 1999.
