
Verizon Wireless, Syracuse Crunch and the U.S. Marine Corps Collecting Toys For Needy Children

SYRACUSE, NY (November 26, 2002) -Verizon Wireless, the Syracuse Crunch hockey team and the U.S. Marine Corps. today announced they are teaming up to collect toys for the Marine Corps' 2002 Toys for Tots campaign. Toys for Tots collects new toys for needy kids in our area every holiday season.
Verizon Wireless asks its customers, and all Syracuse-area holiday shoppers, to bring a new, unwrapped toy into one of four area Verizon Wireless retail locations between November 26 and December 16. The toys will be collected by the Marines and distributed to needy children in the Syracuse area. Anyone who donates a toy will receive two free tickets to select upcoming Crunch hockey games.
"This holiday season underscores the need for members of our communities to help each other whenever we can," said John Palmer, president of Verizon Wireless' Upstate New York Region. "The Marine Corps.' Toys for Tots campaign will give us all the opportunity to make the holiday season a little brighter for some of our less fortunate neighbors and their children."
