
Forward Ouellette Traded to Gwinnett

DULUTH, Ga. - The Gladiators announced that they acquired second-year forward Travis Ouellette from the Indy Fuel in exchange for forward Bobby Hughes on Tuesday.
Ouellette, 25, has played in three games for the Fuel this season. In 2013-14, Ouellette (pronounced WAH-let) played in a total of 25 Central Hockey League games for the Arizona Sundogs and the St. Charles Chill, scoring nine goals and 15 assists. He also spent nine games with the Greenville Road Warriors, adding two goals and an assist.
The Windsor, Ontario native played for four years with the Ferris State Bulldogs, from 2009 to 2013. Ouellette totaled 82 points (37 goals, 45 assists) in 147 games for the Bulldogs. After college, he also spent time in Australia, where he scored 13 goals and 11 assists in 12 games for the Adelaide Adrenaline.
Hughes, 27, played in 28 games for the Gladiators over the last two seasons. The eighth-year veteran scored seven goals and 11 assists for Gwinnett, including the Gladiators' overtime game-winner on December 9th in Toledo.
Ouellette will join the Gladiators this week in the midst of their two-game set against the Florida Everblades in Estero, Fla. The Gladiators will return to Gwinnett on Sunday, December 21st for a 2:05 p.m. game against the Orlando Solar Bears for their annual Holiday Game.
