
Colorado's Nixon Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Brock Nixon of the Colorado Eagles is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Dec. 8-14.
Nixon scored seven goals and added two assists for nine points in four games last week as the Eagles went 3-1-0 in four games against Stockton.
The 27-year-old tallied a pair of goals in a 4-2 loss on Wednesday, recorded four points (3g-1a) in an 8-5 win on Friday, scored the game-winning goal in a 6-3 victory on Saturday and had two points (1g-1a) in a 7-1 win on Sunday.
A native of Russell, Manitoba, Nixon leads Colorado with 13 goals and 22 points, and his 13 goals are tied for fifth overall in the ECHL.
Nixon has scored 33 points (19g-14a) in 50 career games with the Eagles.
Prior to turning pro, he tallied 111 points (51g-60a) in 140 career games with the University of Calgary and had 213 points (98g-115a) in 315 career Western Hockey League games with Kamloops and Calgary.
On behalf of Brock Nixon, a case of pucks will be donated to a Colorado youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 31,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
