
Former Storm Zharkov Drafted by Edmonton Oilers

KEARNEY, Neb. - The Edmonton Oilers selected former Tri-City Storm LW Daniil Zharkov in the third round (91st overall) in the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft. He became the 20th former Storm player to be drafted into the NHL
Zharkov, who played with the Storm in the 2010-11 season, spent last season in the Ontario Hockey League with the Belleville Bulls.
In 36 games with the Storm, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound winger scored eight goals and three assists. Last season, the Russian native played in 50 games for the Bulls and scored 23 goals and 13 assists.
A total of 39 players were drafted by teams in the NHL that have played in the USHL. In addition, there were nine players who have already been drafted by USHL teams that were chosen and will play in the USHL during the 2012-13 season.
