Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa-Former Waterloo forward Brady Vail was chosen near the beginning of the fourth round during the NHL Draft in Pittsburgh Saturday morning.

The 6-0, 195 pounder was selected with the third pick in the fourth round by Montreal, 94th overall.

Vail skated in Waterloo during the 2009-2010 season. Making the roster while just 15-years-old, he appeared in 48 of 60 USHL regular season games. Vail recorded four goals and four assists as a Black Hawk. During the last two winters, he has been a member of the Ontario Hockey League's Windsor Spitfires. In 2011-2012, Vail had a breakout year, scoring 22 goals plus 30 assists in 65 contests. He was ranked 38th among North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting's final rankings released in April.

The Canadians are one of four National Hockey League teams who had neither previously selected a Waterloo Black Hawk during the draft nor had a Hawks alumnus join their franchise at the NHL level via a trade or free agency.
