Fargo Force News Release
The Fargo Force are hosting their third annual Hometown Heroes Night, courtesy of Cross Insulation on Saturday, January 23rd versus the Waterloo Black Hawks at 7:05 PM at Scheels Arena in Fargo.
Last year's Hometown Heroes Night was a huge success raising over $15,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project through a jersey auction and free will donations collected at the game. Over 200 tickets to the game were also donated back to local military members through local donations and unused season tickets.
This season, the Force look to build upon the success of the event by raising even more money with adding a few new promotions to the night. On January 23rd the players' custom military game worn jerseys will once again be available in a live auction following the game, but in addition fans will have a chance at bidding on two game worn military printed helmets. This is the first time in the team's history that the entire team will wear custom printed helmets for a promotional night. The team will also offer an opportunity to win a game worn printed helmet through the chuck a puck contest during the second intermission. Fans can purchase orange pucks for $5 each with the closest puck to center ice being the winner of the helmet. A limited number of pucks will be available for purchase. All other helmets have been purchased by a number of sponsors that have graciously helped donate towards the event.
There will once again be a special production prior to the game with multiple branches having booths around the concourse, a special soldier shout-out video from overseas, a giant flag display for the National Anthem and a special ceremonial puck drop with the puck being brought down by the North Dakota Army National Guard's rappel team.
Over 200 tickets have already been donated to local military members and families. Any local sponsors or individuals looking to help give back even more to our local heroes that evening can purchase tickets for $9.95 each that will be donated back to local military members and families.
