Musketeers Visit Lincoln Tonight
January 14, 2016 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Sioux City Musketeers News Release
The Musketeers return to action tonight on the road in Lincoln, Nebraska. Tonight's game marks the first time that Sioux City has visited the Ice Box, home of the Stars, since last season where they handed the Stars an 8-3 loss on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. The teams are 1-1 so far in the 6 game series, with Lincoln taking the 1st game 2-1 at Tyson Events Center on October 30th, and Sioux City taking a 6-1 win at home on January 3rd.

Tomorrow night the Musketeers pay their second visit to Ralston Arena in Omaha, Nebraska this season to take on the Omaha Lancers. The Two teams last met in Omaha on October 16th, with the Musketeers pulling out a 4-0 win in game one of a 4 game season series. Omaha evened the season series at 1-1 with a 4-2 in Sioux City on November 6th. The Musketeers made it a 2-1 season series with a 4-1 win on New Year's Eve at Tyson Events Center. The Lancers were undefeated on New Year's Eve in 9 previous matches against Sioux City.
Tomorrow night's game in Omaha will be broadcast live at the Sioux City Buffalo Wild Wings location in Lakeport Commons. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to get a good seat to watch the game live on numerous big screen TV's. Game time is 7:00pm.
The Musketeers currently sit in 7th place in the USHL's Western Conference after jumping as high as 3rd place after the previous weekend's action. Just 8 points separate the Musketeers from the first place Stars, and only 3 points separate Sioux City from 3rd place Omaha, so wins against both teams are crucial in the standings, especially considering a smaller number of games remaining in the season series against the Lancers. The Fargo Force round out the Western Conference in 8th place with 28 points, just 3 points behind Sioux City. The Playoff race, as far as the Western Conference is concerned, is a very tight one so far this season.
The Musketeers return to Tyson Events Center at the End of January for a 3:00pm game against the Waterloo Black Hawks on Sunday, January 31st. Fans are invited to stay after the Sunday contest to skate with the team. Skating is free if fans bring their own skates. Skates will be available for rental for just $3.00 for those who do not have skates.
