Musketeers Beat Stars 3-1 in Lincoln

After being held scoreless in two games on the road last weekend, the Musketeers came out firing in the first period in Lincoln tonight. Mat Steeves (Connor Sundquist) kicked things off with a goal at the 3 minute mark of the 1st. Teemu Pulkkinen scored his 10th goal of the season on a feed from Ian Scheid and Jake Ryczek on the power play at 4:57 of the first.
Lincoln's Grant Jozefek (Patrick Polino) scored his 10th goal of the season on the power play at 6:12 of the second period to cut Sioux City's lead to 2-1.
Eeli Tolvanen (Fossier) scored his 14th goal of the season into an empty Lincoln Stars net at 19:42 of the third, giving the Musketeers a 3-1 win.
Cam Gornet stopped 38 of 39 Lincoln shots to pick up his 12th win of the season.
The win jumps the Musketeers from 7th place in the USHL's Western Conference, to 5th place. Only 6 points separate the Musketeers, who now have 33 points, from Lincoln. The Stars currently lead the Western Conference with 39 points.
The Musketeers return to action tomorrow night at Ralston Arena in Omaha, Nebraska when they visit the Omaha Lancers. Game time is 7:05pm.
