
Force have four named to 2005 All-Arena teams

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA, May 25, 2005 â The Georgia Force, who have secured the No. 1 seed in the National Conference playoffs, led all Arena Football League teams with four selections for the 2005 All-Arena First and Second Teams.
Offensive/defensive lineman Jermaine Smith earned First Team All-Arena honors, while quarterback Matt Nagy, defensive specialist Kevin Gaines and offensive/defensive lineman Gillis Wilson garnered Second Team All-Arena selections.
SMITH (6-3, 290, Georgia) earns his second career First Team All-Arena honor and the fourth postseason selection of his four-year career. This season, he posted 22 tackles, 3.5 sacks and two pass break-ups. Smith contributed on offense as well with four receptions for 43 yards.
GAINES (6-1, 205, Louisville) finished the season with 73 tackles (18th in the AFL), six interceptions (T-3rd in the AFL), three pass break-ups and one forced fumble despite missing the Force's last six games. This marks the second straight year Gaines has been named to the League's Second Team All-Arena.
NAGY (6-2, 220, Delaware) led the Force to their first-ever Southern Division title stepping in after starting quarterback Jim Kubiak suffered a season ending knee injury in Week 5. Nagy finished the year with the AFL's third highest passer rating at 119.0 and threw for 3,003 yards on 260-of-388 passing for 66 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. In his 11 games as a starter, he threw at least four touchdowns in 10 of those contests.
WILSON (6-2, 285, Southern-LA) had a break-out season recording a career-high and team leading 5.5 sacks (6th in the AFL) and made 30.5 tackles and two pass break-ups. On offense, he added four receptions for 75 yards and two rushes for one yard. This is the first career League postseason honor for Wilson.
