NEW YORK – The oldest record in the AFL recently became the newest. Los Angeles OL/DL SILAS DEMARY finished the season with 13.5 sacks, breaking CRAIG WALL's record of 13.0, which was set in 1987. Numerous other team and individual records were set in 2005.

Demary's teammate, K REMY HAMILTON, posted a new single-season record by converting 74.4 percent of his field goals. JIM KUBIAK's old record of 4,762 passing yards was surpassed by San Jose QB MARK GRIEB, who finished the season with 4,803 passing yards. Grand Rapids QB MICHAEL BISHOP finished the season with 459 rushing yards, eclipsing MAJOR HARRIS' record of 429.

Dallas QB CLINT STOERNER set new AFL marks for passing attempts (506), completions (322), yards (3,918) and touchdowns (77). Georgia OS TROY BERGRON and WR/LB DEREK LEE also broke two single-season records for rookies. Bergeron's 1,372 receiving yards broke ORONDE GADSDEN's record of 1,335 and Lee finished with 113 receptions, breaking MIKE BAKER'S old record of 105.
