Force Drops 120-117 Game in Final Minutes to Legends

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce dropped a 120-117 decision to the Texas Legends on Thursday night in the first game of a back-to-back.

Despite trailing by as many as 11 points in the final quarter, Sioux Falls (9-13) was able to tie the game at 115 apiece with 1:55 left. The Legends (10-10) were able to close the game out going 5-8 FTA to earn their second-straight victory.

Micah Potter led Sioux Falls in scoring for the second time this season with 29 points on 11-20 FGA (career-high 5-8 3PA) and 18 rebounds. Potter's 18 rebounds are a regular season high.

DJ Stewart secured his fourth 27-plus scoring outage in five games. Stewart has made 10-plus FGA in his last three games, as well.

Behind a combined 23 points from Carlik Jones (31 points on 11-18 FGA, eight rebounds and seven assists) and Olin Carter III (17 points on 4-7 3PA) in the first 24 minutes, Texas was able to own a 60-53 lead at halftime. Potter secured a regular season high 17 points on 7-11 FGA and nine rebounds in the first half to keep the Force within striking distance.

Chandler Hutchison (16 points on 6-12 FGA and eight rebounds) posted 10 points on 3-3 FGA in the third quarter, which helped Sioux Falls take its only lead of the game at the 3:19 mark of the third quarter (79-78). However, Texas held a five-point after three quarters.

Stewart posted a fourth quarter career-high 14 points on 6-7 FGA and four rebounds in the loss.

Mario Chalmers had a regular season high 15 points on 5-10 FGA, eight rebounds and seven assists. Chalmers has secured seven-plus assists in back-to-back games.

Both teams meet for the series finale tomorrow, at 7:00 PM CST from the Sanford Pentagon.
