Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
ALL-TIME RECORD: 12-11
LAST MEETING: 117-125 on 2/28/20 in Frisco, TX
STREAK: L1
The Sioux Falls Skyforce face the Texas Legends in Sioux Falls for the first time since December 17, 2019, with major Western Conference playoff implications.
There are 14 games remaining in the regulars season and Sioux Falls sits just 1.5 games back of the final spot in the West. They are two games back of the fourth seed. In between them and the OKC Blue, who hold the final spot, are the Texas Legends. They are a game ahead of the Force and just a half-game out of the sixth spot.
The contest is also the latest first meeting of the season between the two organizations since the Legends joined the G League.
After losing six-straight road games, Sioux Falls has won back-to-back road games for the first time since Jan. 8 and 10. They defeated OKC 115-111 and the Memphis Hustle 101-96 late last week.
Coming into the series, the Legends have lost two-of-three games, as they were swept by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Feb. 23 and 26. Charlik Jones led Texas in a bounce back victory on Tuesday in a 99-94 slugfest with the Austin Spurs. Jones added 25 points and seven assists in the victory.
Texas features Sioux Falls native Deng Geu. Gue, a Washington High School graduate, attended North Dakota State and finished his career at the University of North Texas. He is averaging 5.7 points on 48.3 percent shooting, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 18.5 minutes per game. Geu posted a career-high 14 points on 7-11 FGA and six rebounds in a loss to the Stockton Kings on Feb. 2.
