Birmingham Squadron Activate Jared Harper and Zylan Cheatham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March. 3, 2022) - The Birmingham Squadron announced today that the team has activated guard Jared Harper and forward Zylan Cheatham. In a corresponding move, the team has waived guards Tra Holder and Sam Cunliffe.

Harper (5-10, 175) returns to the team after playing for Team USA during World Cup qualifying. This season with Birmingham, Harper has played in 12 games, averaging 22.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists and 1.5 steals in 35.0 minutes per game.

His 22.3 points per game rank tied for 15th in the G League, while his 7.2 assists rank eighth. The Mableton, Georgia native is one of only 13 players in the G League this season averaging over 20.0 points per game and over 5.0 assists per game.

Cheatham (6-8, 220) has played in 11 games this season with the Salt Lake City Stars (two games) and the Squadron (nine games). This season he is averaging 13.5 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 blocks and 0.9 steals per game. He is one of only 13 players in the G League averaging a double-double on the season.

The pair join the team ahead of the Squadron's next matchup at home on Monday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m. CT against the Texas Legends.

The Squadron roster now stands at 12.
