Fargo Force News Release

Fargo dominated in tonight's final home game of the regular season. The Force went 3/3 on the powerplay, 5/6 on the PK and outshot their opponents 35-23. A four-point night from Tristan Broz as well as 22 saves from Fargo goaltender Brennan Boynton led the Force to a 5-1 win in the last home game of the regular season.

Tristan Broz kicked off the scoring early with a powerplay goal 3:42 into the first period. He fired in a one-timer short side from the left circle giving Fargo an early 1-0 lead. Just over six minutes later Broz ripped in his second powerplay goal of the game, nearly identical to the first, extending the Fargo lead to 2-0. The Force outshot their opponents in period one 16-6.

Eight seconds into period two Jake Braccini sniped in his 11th goal of the season. In a rush down the ice straight out of the faceoff he sniped in a puck rebounding off the backboards, finding the back of the net with a crazy short side rip. Force captain Nick Strom was the next to add on a tally tapping in a centering pass in the crease from Cody Monds to give Fargo a 4-0 lead. The remainder of the period saw just once penalty against the Force, but they quickly killed it off and closed out period two leading 4-0.

13:17 into the third the Force scored their fifth goal of the game. Three minutes earlier Waterloo was called for spearing against Aaron Huglen, and it was Aaron Huglen who got revenge. He flipped in his 15th goal of the season right over the far shoulder of Waterloo's netminder giving Fargo a 5-0 lead. With 2:40 remaining Waterloo added their first tally of the game on their sixth power play of the night, but it wasn't enough to catch up the the Force's substantial lead.

The Force had four players with multi-point games in tonight's contest and put up one of the best PK performances of the season. Fargo is back on the road next weekend in Sioux City for the final two games of the season. Stay tuned for updates on playoff seeding, game times, and game locations!
