GAMEDAY PREVIEW PRESENTED BY CULLIGAN WATER
LINCOLN (19-27-4)
Coming off of a terrific road performance in Des Moines on Tuesday, the Stars started off slow against the Lancers in Omaha last night, dropping the game 7-3. Stanley Cooley, Jake Beaune and Aidan Thompson lit the lamp. Ryan Ouellette made 23 saves in the loss but became the first USHL goalie this season to record 1,000 or more saves (1,019). Lincoln returns home to the Ice Box as they hope to continue their recent dominance in their own building. In their last nine games at the Ice Box, the Stars are 7-1-1. Lincoln has won 13 of their 19 games this season at home (13-11-1). The last time Sioux Falls made the trek to the Ice Box, the Stars exploded for nine goals in a 9-4 win on March 10th.
SIOUX FALLS (18-29-4)
The Stampede are in the midst of their worst stretch in the 2020-21 campaign as they are losers in nine of their last ten games. They've lost six straight, including last night's defeat at the hands of the Sioux City Musketeers at home. Trent Burnham shouldered the load in net for Sioux Falls, stopping 38 shots in the loss. Cole Sillinger, who joined Sioux Falls earlier in the year from the WHL, was recently selected to represent Team Canada at the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championship in Frisco and Plano, Texas. Sillinger ends his season leading Sioux Falls in scoring with 42 points (22 goals, 20 assists) in 29 games. Garrett Pinoniemi leads all active Sioux Falls players in points (37).
THINGS TO WATCH FOR
