Follow McDavid and the Otters to the Season Opener in Niagara

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League have announced the details of a bus trip for fans to watch the Otters play their first game of the 2012-2013 OHL season in St. Catharines against the Niagara IceDogs on Thursday, September 20.

The game is slated to be the OHL regular season debut for 2012 first overall pick Connor McDavid, who was just the third player in OHL history to receive exceptional status.

As a 15-year-old with the minor midget Toronto Marlboros, McDavid dominated the opposition as he averaged over two points a game. McDavid collected 209 points (79g, 130a) in 88 games. He was Most Valuable Player in three tournaments: Silver Stick North American Championships, Peterborough Minor Midget Tournament, OHL Cup and was the GTHL Player of the Year.

For $45 a person, fans can reserve a seat on the bus, receive a ticket to the Otters/IceDogs game in St. Catharines and an exclusive Connor McDavid t-shirt. There will be food and drinks provided on the bus and prizes will be given away.

The bus will depart from Millcreek Mall at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 20 in time for the 7:00 p.m. start and return to Erie following the game. Fans are required to have a passport in order to cross the border for the game, and it is stressed that fans interested in the trip should apply for passports now if they do not have one.
