Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators could not get their offense into gear as they were shut out by the Richmond Flying Squirrels in a 2-0 loss on Tuesday night.

Brett Brach turned in an outstanding effort for the Senators on Tuesday, going seven innings in which he allowed two runs. The right-hander scattered seven hits and struck out five Richmond batters. One of Richmond's two runs came in the seventh, but Senators' center fielder Michael Taylor prevented more from crossing as he threw out Richmond's Ryan Lollis out at the plate. Tyler Herron continued to pitch well for Harrisburg by posting a perfect eighth inning.

The Senators' best chance to score came in the seventh inning when Cutter Dykstra and Matt Skole both reached to start the frame. Quincy Latimore sacrificed the runners to second and third, but with Drew Vettleson (2-for-3) batting, Dykstra was picked off third and Vettleson went on to strikeout and end the inning.

The two teams will quickly turn around and play again tomorrow at 12:05 p.m. On the hill for Harrisburg will be Brian Dupra against Richmond's Kyle Crick. The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 11:50 a.m. on 1460 AM or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.
