Daniel Norris Headed to MLB All-Star Futures Game

PORTLAND, Maine - Fisher Cats left-handed pitcher Daniel Norris learned today that he will represent the Blue Jays and Fisher Cats in the 2014 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game. Norris will travel to Target Field in Minnesota and suit up for the United States squad in the annual contest that features some of the best minor league talent. The game will be played at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, kicking off the MLB All-Star Break at Target Field.

Norris, 21, has made 14 starts this season, all but one with Advanced-A Dunedin in the Florida State League. He compiled a 6-0 mark with Dunedin, posting a league-best 1.62 ERA in more than 65 innings of work. He advanced to Double-A last week, striking out nine in a no-decision in his Double-A debut on Wednesday.

Norris will travel to the Futures Game along with fellow Blue Jays prospect Dalton Pompey.

Norris will make his second start with the Fisher Cats tonight at 7 p.m. in Portland. Radio coverage with Tom Gauthier begins at 6:45 p.m. on WGIR 610 AM and www.nhfishercats.com.
