TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Harrisburg Senators will meet in game two of a three-game series...The Senators scored four runs in the top of the second and cruised to a 4-1 win over the Flying Squirrels in the opener of the series on Tuesday night at The Diamond.

TONIGHT'S STARTER: Right-hander Daryl Maday gets the start in game two of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Suffered his first loss of the season 5/28 against Bowie...Allowed three runs on four hits in six innings of work...Struck out four and walked two...All three runs and three of his four hits allowed came in the first inning...Allowed the first four batters to reach in the first inning...Retired nine of the next 10 batters he faced after giving up a two-run double to the clean-up hitter Joel Guzman...Gave up just one hit after the first...Threw 90 pitches, 57 strikes...Recorded seven ground outs and six fly outs...Three runs allowed matched a season high...Six of the 11 runs he has allowed have come in the first inning...Notched his fourth quality start of the season...Has induced nine double plays in his 10 outings...Has allowed one run or fewer in seven of his 10 starts...Leads the Eastern League with a 1.68 ERA...Fifth in the league in baserunners per nine innings at 10.68 (70/59IP)...Attempting to become the second EL pitcher to eight wins (Jared Hughes).

Right-hander Jason Jones gets the nod in game two of the series for the Senators...Suffered the loss in his first start with Harrisburg 5/28 at Erie...Allowed six runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings..Struck out three and walked two...Five of the six runs allowed came in the sixth inning...Signed by the Washington Nationals as a minor league free agent June 27, 2010...Spent all of 2009 with Triple-A Rochester in the Minnesota Twins organization...Went 5-11 with a 5.75 ERA in 31 appearances including 22 starts...Allowed 172 hits in 134 2/3 innings including 20 home runs...Spent parts of three seasons (2006-2008) with Double-A Trenton...Went 13-7 with a 3.33 ERA in 25 starts with the Thunder in 2008...Named an Eastern League Mid-Season All-Star...Was with Trenton for the entire 2007 season where he went 8-11 with a 3.63 ERA in 28 games including 19 starts...Made his Double-A debut with the Thunder in 2006...Appeared in 10 games including nine starts...Went 4-3 with a 4.83 ERA...Allowed 65 hits in 50 1/3 innings...Began 2006 season with Advanced-A Tampa and was 9-2 with a 2.55 ERA in 19 appearances including 11 starts...Named a Florida State League Mid-Season All-Star...Originally selected by the New York Yankees in the fourth round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft...Attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va...Pitching coach while at Liberty was current Harrisburg pitching coach Randy Tomlin.

BEHIND THE CURVE: The Flying Squirrels trail the Altoona Curve in the Western Division by seven games entering play today...It is the farthest the club has been out of first place this season...Richmond had a 1 1/2 game lead over Altoona on 5/14..Since that date, the Flying Squirrels are 5-12 while the Curve is 14-4.

NO HOMER FIELD ADVANTAGE: The Flying Squirrels have hit just two home runs over their last 16 home games...Both have been inside-the-park homers...Richmond has not hit a home run out of The Diamond since Nick Noonan's solo home run off of Ryohei Tanaka on 5/2...The club has hit an Eastern League-low 22 home runs...Only seven of the 22 homers have been hit at home including two hit in the home opener...There have been 21 home runs total hit at The Diamond this season...The Diamond has been the most difficult place to hit a home run in the Eastern League with just 0.81 homers per game (21/26G)...Only 22 home runs have been hit at New Britain Stadium in 26 games (0.85)...Erie's Jerry Uht Park is the most hitter-friendly ballpark in the league as 61 home runs have been hit there in just 24 games (2.54)...The Eastern League average is 1.44 home runs per game.

TURPEN TIME: Right-hander Daniel Turpen stranded another inherited runner on base last night...The 23-year-old has stranded 15 of the 16 runners he has inherited on the bases over his 18 appearances...Turpen also leads all Eastern League relievers in lowest walks per nine innings at 0.64...He has issued just two unintentional walks in his 28 1/3 innings on the mound.

EYE OF THE TIGER: First baseman Andy D'Alessio has hits in a season-best five straight games...The Clemson University product is 7-for-17 (.412) over his last five contests with a double, RBI, and four runs scored...The 22-year-old has hits in six of his eight contests (11-for-27) since coming off of the Disabled List on 5/23.

NO SHOCKER: Third baseman Conor Gillaspie is hitting .375 (24-for-64) over his last 16 games after being left out of the starting line up on consecutive days (5/13, 5/14) against Altoona...The 22-year-old has five doubles, two triples, 11 RBI, and 11 runs scored over his last 16 games...He has struck out six times and has walked three...The former first-round pick out of Wichita State is also 8-for-14 with runners in scoring position over that span with nine RBI, and he leads the club with 29 RBI on the season...Gillaspie was 7-for-35 (.200) over his previous 32 games...His average has climbed from .198 to .261.

HERE'S THE CATCH: Catcher Jackson Williams went 0-for-14 with five strike outs in four games played on the home stand...The 24-year-old began the season with an 11-game hit streak (14-for-34) but is batting just .096 (9-for-94) over his last 30 games...His average has dropped from .412 to .180 over that span.

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 66 double plays in 52 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned and has not gone more than two games without turning a double play.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: Super utility man Juan Ciriaco recorded his second hit with a runner in scoring position and drove in the lone Richmond run in last night's game...Prior to his at-bat in the bottom of the sixth inning, Ciriaco was 1-for-15 (.067) with runners in scoring position in his 20 games played with the Flying Squirrels.
