TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Erie SeaWolves will meet in the opener of a three-game series...The Flying Squirrels fell short in their attempt to rally from a six-run deficit as they fell to the Altoona Curve in the finale of a four-game series on Sunday afternoon at The Diamond.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Right-hander Daryl Maday gets the start in the opener of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Got the win for the sixth straight start at Bowie on 5/12...Did not allow a run over 5 2/3 innings of work...Gave up six hits while striking out three and walking two...Third time in seven starts he did not give up a run...Five of the six hits allowed were singles...Has pitched into the sixth inning in five of his seven starts...Worked out of a bases loaded jam in the first inning, stranding all three runners...Stranded eight base runners total...Retired the leadoff batter in three of his six innings on the mound...Recorded seven ground outs and six fly outs...Is 3-0 and has allowed just one run on 15 hits in 19 2/3 innings (0.46 ERA) in his three starts at The Diamond...Has struck out 13 and walked three over those three starts...Three of the seven runs he has allowed have come in the first inning...Has won in six straight starts for the first time in his career...Leads the Eastern League with a 1.54 ERA...Attempting to become the second EL pitcher to seven wins (Jared Hughes).

Left-hander Andy Oliver gets the nod in game one of the series for the SeaWovles...Making the start on short rest after going just one inning on 5/14 at Bowie due to weather...Earned the win on 5/9 at Altoona when after giving up three runs, two earned, on five hits in 7 1/3 innings...Struck out three and walked two...Struck out a career-high 10 batters and earned the win on 4/29 at Bowie...Allowed six runs, five earned, on six hits including two home runs in just 3 2/3 innings in his Double-A debut 4/12 at Binghamton...Five of his first seven starts have come on the road...Left-handed hitters are batting just .222 against him (8-for-36)...Made his pro debut with the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League in 2009...Went 1-1 with a 2.81 ERA in 11 appearances...Struck out 16 batters and walked nine in 16 innings of work...Enters the 2010 season rated as the #10 prospect in the Detroit Tigers farm system according to Baseball America...Selected by Detroit in the second round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft...Attended Oklahoma State University

PLAY LIKE CLAY: Outfielder Clay Timpner has hits in each of his last 11 contests, matching Jackson Williams season-long 11-game hit streak...The 26-year-old is hitting .462 (18-for-39) over the course of the streak with five doubles, 10 RBI, and six runs scored...He drove in at least one run in seven straight games (4/28-5/5)...He went 13-for-25 (.520) with four doubles, nine RBI, and three runs scored on the previous seven-game homestand...Timpner is batting .440 (11-for-25) with runners in scoring position...Prior to this season, Timpner had not played at first base in his professional career.

BUILT FORD TOUGH: Outfielder Darren Ford stole a pair of bases on Sunday afternoon for the second time this season...The 24-year-old is tied with Trenton's Daniel Brewer for second in the Eastern League in stolen bases with 13.

RAFAEL'S MASTERPIECE: Right-hander Rafael Cova has gone 10 2/3 innings without allowing a run spanning 10 outings after tossing a scoreless 1 2/3 on Sunday...He has allowed just three hits over that stretch while striking out 13 and walking 10...The lone run the 28-year-old has allowed this season was an unearned he gave up in the bottom of the 14th inning at Altoona on 4/13.

BACK IN THE SADDLE: Catcher/first baseman Tyler La Torre ended an 0-for-22 skid at the plate with a pinch-hit, RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning on Sunday afternoon...The 26-year-old is now 2-for-3 as a pinch hitter with a pair of RBI.

ERROR MESSAGE: The Flying Squirrels committed a season-high five errors in the game on Sunday...The club has slipped from first to third in both fewest errors committed and fielding percentage.

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE: Richmond is 13-5 at The Diamond even with Sunday's loss to Altoona...The Flying Squirrels are one of only two teams in the Eastern League to win 13 games at home and the club's .722 winning percentage at home is tops in the league.

MAKING THEIR PITCH: The Flying Squirrels' pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 2.83 ERA...The club has also allowed an Eastern League-low 114 runs...The 271 hits allowed by Richmond are second-fewest in the league (Trenton-245)...Richmond pitching leads the Eastern League with six shutouts.

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 46 double plays in their first 37 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned and has not gone more than two games without turning a double play.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: Sunday's game, which lasted 3:36, was the longest nine-inning game this season for the Flying Squirrels...The previous long was 3:21 on 5/3 against Altoona...The longest overall game this season was 3:46 at Altoona on 4/13 which lasted 14 innings.
