Bowie Baysox Make Roster Move

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce a series of roster moves. LHP Chad Thall was placed on the Temporary Inactive List, LHP Mike Hinckley was transferred to Bowie from class Single-A Aberdeen and RHP Brandon Cooney was transferred to Bowie from class Single-A Frederick. All three moves were effective Monday, May 17. With the moves, the Baysox have a complete 24-man roster.

Thall has appeared in 12 games for the Baysox this season. The 2009 Eastern League All-Star is 1-0 with one save and a 4.32 ERA in 16.2 innings. In his career, the lefty has pitched in 79 games for Bowie, going 3-2 with two saves and a 3.31 ERA.

Hinckley has not pitched yet this year, and split last year between the Washington Nationals and class Triple-A Oklahoma City Redhawks. He has made 28 appearances in the Major Leagues over the last two years, all with the Nationals. He is 0-0 with a 1.93 ERA over 23.1 Major League innings.

Cooney has appeared in 14 games for the Frederick Keys this year, going 2-0 with six saves and a 0.55 ERA. He has allowed one earned run in 12 games, spanning 16.1 innings. He has walked seven batters while striking out 16. In 2009, Cooney made 12 appearances for the Keys, going 0-2 with six saves and a 0.60 ERA. Baseball America rated him the 17th best prospect in the Orioles organization before the season.
