Reading Fightin Phils News Release

The R-Phils (15-22) dropped the opening game of their three-game set with the Harrisburg Senators (18-20) on Tuesday evening in front of 2,317 fans at Metro Bank Park in Harrisburg.

Senators' starter Brad Arneson (2-2, 2.70) allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits over seven solid innings to earn the victory. Senators left fielder Jesus Valdez powered the offense, finishing the game 1-4 with a triple and three RBIs.

Reading had a 4-2 lead into the seventh, but newcomer Tyson Brummett (0-1, 81.00) allowed three runs in the frame and was saddled with the loss in his first appearance as an R-Phil in 2010. Starter Phillippe Aumont allowed two runs (one earned) over five innings and earned a no-decision.

With the win, the Senators have now gone 7-0 against the R-Phils this season. The Sens will look to keep their win-streak alive, as they host the R-Phils on Wednesday, as the three-game set continues in Harrisburg.

Taking the ball in the middle game of the three-game series for the R-Phils will be LHP Yohan Flande (2-3, 2.55). In his last outing, Flande, 24, went seven solid innings on May 14 in Akron, en-route to his second win of the season. The lefty has posted a 2-1 mark with a 3.86 ERA over three games started during the month of May.

On the mound for the Senators in game two on Wednesday will be RHP Brad Meyers (1-0, 0.00). Originally selected by the Nationals in the 2007 First-Year-Player Draft, Meyers, 24, takes the hill for just the third time this season. The California native has yet to allow an earned run this season over his 11 innings pitched.

Join Brian Seltzer, who will have the call beginning with the R-Phils pre-game show at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN Radio 1240 AM WIOV and readingphillies.com. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m.
