SERIES AT A GLANCE: The Flying Squirrels will aim for their second straight win and second consecutive series victory in the finale of a four-game series against the Altoona Curve today at The Diamond. Last night, Mike Kickham and a trio of Richmond relievers - Austin Fleet, Chris Gloor and Daryl Maday - combined to shutout Altoona in the Squirrels' 1-0 triumph. Kickham (1-0) was sharp in his second career Double-A start and first against Altoona as he limited the Curve to three hits in six scoreless innings. He also struck out six batters and issued three walks. Meanwhile, Altoona's Brandon Cumpton (0-2) nearly matched Kickham pitch for pitch, save for the solo home run he gave up to Johnny Monell in the bottom of the fourth, which proved to be the difference in the game. The Flying Squirrels went 9-8 against Altoona in 2011 including a 4-2 mark at The Diamond. Richmond is 21-25 all-time against the Curve and the club is 13-11 all-time in the River City. The two teams will meet 21 times in 2012, 14 times in Altoona and 7 times in Richmond. Following this four-game series, on the opening home stand, the Curve will not return to Richmond until July 16th-18th. The next meeting between the two teams will be April 19th-22nd at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona.
