Florimon's Double Helps Lead Tribe over Clippers

April 20, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Indianapolis Indians News Release

COLUMBUS - Pedro Florimon's double in the tenth inning plated the go-ahead run as the Indianapolis Indians outlasted the Columbus Clippers on Monday evening, 4-3. The Tribe blasted three home runs, two from Deibinson Romero, as they took the opener of a three-game set from the Clippers.

The rally in the tenth began when Gorkys Hernandez drew a two-out walk. He proceeded to steal second base, and advance to third on a balk. Florimon then doubled to right-center field to push the Indians in front. Blake Wood allowed a two-out double in the bottom-half of the inning, but he stranded the runner to clinch victory for Indianapolis (5-6).

Deibinson Romero raised his home run total to a team-leading three with a pair of solo homers. Brent Morel hit his first round-tripper of the year in the second inning. The Indians entered the game on Monday with just one home run as a team through their first 10 contests.

Brad Lincoln (1-0) sent the game to extra-innings by setting the Clippers (5-6) down in order in the bottom of the ninth. He received the win while Ryan Webb (1-1) was handed the loss after the extra-inning rally occurred on his watch.
