DURHAM, NC - The Durham Bulls begin their second homestand of the season tonight, a seven-game stretch featuring visits from the Charlotte Knights and Gwinnett Braves. Game of Thrones Night, Education Day, and Friday Night Fireworks highlight the event schedule.
On Monday, April 20, the Bulls return to the DBAP to begin a four-game series with the division rival Charlotte Knights. Tonight's 7:05 p.m. game against the Chicago White Sox' top affiliate is presented by Michael & Son. It is also the first Tijuana Flats Ticket Takeover of the season, where Public Safety Personnel (professionals dedicated to law enforcement, fire prevention, fire suppression, and pre-hospital emergency medical services) receive 50% off Terrace View tickets. This offer occurs on the first Monday of every month and is only available at the box office, with valid ID required at time of purchase.
Tuesday, April 21st features the first of two Education Days at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, as the Bulls and Knights square off at 11:05 a.m. Students from across the Triangle will be able to engage with various educational and interactive stations throughout the DBAP concourse. Every Tuesday home game is also 2-for-1 ROOsday, where fans can get two Terrace View tickets for the price of one upon showing the Kangaroo Express app at time of purchase. First pitch on Wednesday, April 22 is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The Bulls and Knights conclude their series on Thursday, April 23 in a 7:05 p.m. game presented by Hilton Durham. Thursday is Game of Thrones Night, one of the most anticipated promotional events of the season. Paying tribute to the mega-hit HBO series and George R.R. Martin's books, the Bulls of House Durham will don acclaimed theme jerseys, which will be available in both in-game and online auctions benefiting the Durham Bulls Youth Athletic League. Fans can take photos with costumed characters and be entertained by in-game features straight from the Seven Kingdoms.
Thursday's contest also features the return of $1 concessions, as Bright Leaf hot dogs, soda, and popcorn are just a buck. In addition, Thursdays are College Nights where students can get a Terrace View ticket and $5 in Bulls Bucks for just $11 or an Outfield Reserved ticket for only $5.99 by entering the promo code COLLEGE (and using a valid .edu email address) when purchasing tickets online in advance at durhambulls.com. Finally, fans take advantage of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC True Blue Thursday promotion, where they can get a game ticket and exclusive cap for just $11.
On Friday, April 24, the Gwinnett Braves come to town to begin a three-game series in Downtown Durham. The 7:05 p.m. game is presented by Quintiles, and features Friday Night Fireworks sponsored by Bruce Hill of RE/MAX One Realty. Saturday's 5:05 p.m. contest against the Atlanta Braves' Triple-A affiliate is presented by Great Clips.
The series and homestand conclude on Sunday, April 26 with a 1:05 p.m. game. Sun Tan City presents SUNSational Sunday, an afternoon contest featuring postgame Kids Run the Bases sponsored by Nature's Twist. The 26th is also the first of three dates where participants in the Bully Busters anti-bullying program will be rewarded with game tickets for completing the "Bully Busters" pledge. The elementary school assembly program, presented by ARS Rescue Rooter, reached students at over 40 schools in Durham, Wake, and Orange counties this offseason.
