Florida's Herauf Suspended One Game, Fined

December 18, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that it suspended Florida left wing Brad Herauf for one game and fined him an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #299 against Texas on Dec. 15.

Herauf was assessed an instigator penalty with two seconds remaining in the game.

Rule 47.12 states that any player deemed to be the instigator or aggressor of fisticuffs during the last five minutes of the game or at anytime during overtime, shall be automatically suspended from his team's next game.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Herauf will miss Florida's game against Columbia (Dec. 21).
