Florida To Open Pivotal Five-Game Set With South Carolina

The Florida Everblades finished off their eight-game homestand this week in Germain Arena. The 'Blades were nearly perfect in regulation during the trip only slipping up in their final game on Saturday to Gwinnett 4-3. The 'Blades knocked off the Gladiators 4-3 on Thursday and 7-5 on Friday night to post a 6-1-1 record at home.

The Everblades travel to South Carolina for three big games this weekend against the division-leading Stingrays. Florida will play three straight in North Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, SC on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then return home to Germain Arena to battle the Stingrays on March 19 and 20 for the final times in the regular season.

LAST WEEK

Thursday, March 4 vs Gwinnett Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: Florida won their fourth straight game in come-from-behind fashion, 4-3. The 'Blades got three third-period goals to defeat Gwinnett for the sixth time this season. Milan Gajic (GW) scored a goal and an assist to lead the way for the 'Blades. Rookie forward Shea Guthrie (1g, 1a) also registered a multiple-point game for Florida.

Friday, March 5 vs Gwinnett Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: Dominic Osman paced the Everblades with a hat trick in the Everblades 7-5 victory. Eleven of the 16 skaters posted points in the victory including five multiple-point scorers. Along with Osman, Elgin Reid (2a), Kevin Baker (1g, 1a), Matt Duffy (2a), and Brandon Buck (3a) registered multiple-point nights. Chris Beckford-Tseu, appearing in his 16th straight game stopped 32 shots to record his 14th win of the season.

Saturday, March 6 vs Gwinnett Germain Arena 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: Florida's five-game win streak was snapped by Gwinnett on Sunday with their 4-3 victory. The Gladiators scored a late goal on the power play to seal the win and secure the two points. The Everblades finished their season-high eight-game homestand with a record of 6-1-1.

Friday, March 12 @ South Carolina North Charleston Coliseum 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Stingrays will meet for the fourth, fifth and sixth times in North Charleston Coliseum this season. The Everblades have won three straight over South Carolina, including their last two meetings in Germain Arena. Florida is 4-3-1 against South Carolina this season and 1-1-1 on the road in North Charleston Coliseum.

Saturday, March 13 @ South Carolina North Charleston Coliseum 5:05PM

GAME NOTES: The Everblades secured three of a possible four points in their last visit to North Charleston Coliseum. Mathieu Roy led the way in the Everblades 4-2 win on February 13 with two goals, while Ross Carlson and Dominic Osman each registered a goal and an assist. Defenseman AJ Thelen chipped in two assists in the victory. The Everblades dropped a tough game to the Stingrays the night before in a nine-player shootout 4-3.

Sunday, March 14 @ South Carolina North Charleston Coliseum 4:05PM

GAME NOTES: The final meeting in North Charleston Coliseum in the regular season. Florida overcame a three-goal and two-goal deficit in back to back games in Germain Arena last time these two clubs met. The Everblades stung the 'Rays 5-4 in overtime on February 27 powered behind the hat trick of Kevin Baker. The following night Florida won in a shootout after trailing 3-1 after two periods of play. Colin Nicholson and Dominic Osman added tallies in the shootout.
