Salmon Kings Receive Matt Keetley

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that goaltender Matt Keetley has been re-assigned to Victoria by the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL).

The Medicine Hat, AB native joins the Salmon Kings from the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League (AHL) for his second stint in Victoria this season. This past November, Keetley posted a 2-1-0 record with a 0.965 save percentage, a 1.01 goals against average, and two shutouts for the Salmon Kings. For his efforts Keetley was named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for November 9th - 15th.

The 23-year-old netminder has played in 23 contests with the Heat this season where he has recorded a 10-7-1 record to go along with a 2.59 goals against average, a 0.912 save percentage, and two shutouts.

Keetley was selected in the fifth round by the Calgary Flames (158th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The Salmon Kings' roster now sits at 23 players (13 forwards, 8 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders).

The Salmon Kings return home to host the National Conference leading Idaho Steelheads on Wednesday, March 10th, Friday, March 12th, and Saturday, March 13th. Puck drop for all three games at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre is at 7:05 p.m. Next Saturday's contest is the Salmon Kings' second annual Eco Night.
