Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that forward Anthony Stewart has been reassigned to Rochester.

Stewart recorded four shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in his most recent four-game stint with the Panthers. In ten games with Florida this season, he has one assist, which he recorded on January 20th against Washington. He has seven goals and nine assists in 34 games with the Amerks this season.

The Amerks will take on the Binghamton Senators at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Wednesday, February 7th, in the first game of a four game in five-night stretch. The 7:05 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 Networks.

Rochester has beaten Binghamton in all seven of their meetings this season and can complete the season-series sweep with a win on Wednesday night. In their last meeting on January 27th, Rochester pulled off a 4-3 overtime win thanks to some late-game heroics from Amerks forward Michael Ryan. Ryan netted the game-tying goal with 45 seconds remaining in regulation and nailed the game-winner just 50 seconds into the extra period to lift the Amerks to a thrilling victory.

Since their devastating overtime defeat at the hands of the Amerks, Binghamton has won two straight, including a 3-2 overtime shootout victory over Springfield on February 4th. The B-Sens are 3-5-1-3 in their last 12 contests and are 14-26-2-5 with 35 points on the season, placing them at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Despite its position in the standings, Binghamton does possess some offensive prowess in the form of forward Jeff Heerema, who has 22 goals and 18 assists in 47 games and rookie forward Andrew Ebbett, who has recorded 12 goals and 15 assists in 43 games. Goaltender Kelly Guard backstopped the B-Sens in their last two contests. Guard went 2-0 with a .951 save percentage and a 1.85 goals against average. He is 8-15-3 with an .893 SV% and a 3.41 GAA on the season.
