Florence Y'alls
Chillicothe, Ohio: The Freedom came into last night's game looking to sweep the Paints on the road, but failed to do so, losing 5-4. Ironicly, all three games were one run games, Florence winning the first game 4-3, the second 2-1, and losing the third 5-4.
Again, starting pitching was spectacular for both teams, but the bullpens caused the losses in all three games. Joel Posey pitched seven shutout innings, striking out eight batters and lowering his ERA to 2.82. Posey left the game with a 3-0 lead. Florence's offense came from the bats of Trevor Hall, who hit his 15th homer of the season, and Josh Sanchez, who had a two run single. Josh Ury was the star for the Paints, hitting two homeruns. Mickey O'Quinn gave up one run in the eighth to let the Paints inch closer, and then Mike Causey gave up four unearned runs, to lose the game.
The Freedom failed to sweep the Paints, but still come away with the series victory, the Wild Things lost last night, so no ground was made. Florence still sits atop the East by two games over Washington. The Freedom return home tonight for a six game homestand, starting with the Windy City Thunderbolts, and a weekend series with the Gateway Grizzlies.
