Brandon Smith tossed his fifth complete game of the season to lead the Grizzlies past the visiting Chillicothe Paints 3-0 Wednesday night. The complete game was Smith's fifth of the season-giving him the Frontier League and tieing him with Pete Buck (2003) for the most complete games in a season.

Smith out-dueled Chillicothe's Perry Cunningham, who also tossed a complete game. Cunningham allowed just one earned run on four Grizzlies hits. He struck out 10 in the game.

The Grizzlies improve to 26-31 with the win. The Paints drop to 27-31.

Smith struck out a season-high nine hitters and allowed just six hits in the win.

Mike Breyman had two hits for the Grizzlies and drove in a run. Jimmy Reiter had the only other run driven in for the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies and Paints will play game two Thursday night at GMC Stadium. Game time is 7:05.
