Flint wins two of three this week

Week In Review - The Flint Generals captured four of a possible six points last week after three games played at Perani's Arena. On Tuesday morning, March 8, 2005, the Generals dropped at 3-2 decision to the visiting Muskegon Fury. Jim Duhart and Mike Tobin scored for the Generals. Flint rebounded with a 5-1 victory over the visiting Elmira Jackals on Friday night. Right wing Rob Valicevic paced the attack with two goals. John DiPace, Jason Woolley and Kris Waltze also tallied for the Generals. Goaltender Dan McIntyre recorded the victory. After a Saturday morning trade with the Richmond Riverdogs, the Generals defeated them 3-1. Two shorthanded goals in the second period by Jason Selleke and Bobby Reynolds proved to be the difference. Rob Valicevic also scored for the Generals. The Riverdogs' lone goal was scored by former General Kris Waltze.

Southern Sports Supply/UHL Goaltender of the Week Nominee - Marco Emond is our nominee for the Southern Sports Supply/UHL Goaltender of the Week ending March 13, 2005. Emond posted a record of 1-1 last week earning the 3-1 victory over Richmond on Saturday night. Emond stopped 44 of 48 shots he faced in league play this week.

Kansas City Outlaws (24-37-4, 52 pts.) Fifth Place, Western Division....Twelfth overall.

This is Flint's first appearance at Kansas City. These two games are the final meetings of the regular season. Flint holds a 3-0 season series advantage. Leading scorers are right wing Joe Seroski (34-23,57 pts.) and left wing Jason Ruff (21g, 34a, 55 pts.) Right wing George Davis (128) leads the Outlaws in penalty minutes. The Outlaws posted a record of 1-1 last week with a 4-3 victory at Fort Wayne on Friday night. Kansas City lost to the Quad City Mallards, 2-1 on Saturday night. Besides the two games against the Generals, the Outlaws will host the Quad City Mallards on Saturday.

The Family Arena - St. Charles, MO - 8:05 p.m. & 2:05 p.m. E.D.T. starting times respectively.

Missouri River Otters (36-24-6, 78 pts.) Third Place, Western Division, Seventh overall.

These two games will be the fourth and fifth meetings of the season against the River Otters. Missouri is lead by center, Lars Petterson (22g, 37a, 59 pts.) right wing, Frank Littlejohn (30g, 24a, 54 pts.) and defenseman Mat Snesrud (9g, 41a 50 pts.) The team penalty minutes leaders are Littlejohn (193), right wing Quintan Van Horlick (179) and George Cantrall (170). Last week, Missouri defeated Port Huron 5-2 at Family Arena on Sunday afternoon. This week, the River Otters host Richmond on Wednesday, and is at Quad City on Friday.

Flint Generals Review

Record: (29-26-11, 69 pts.) Third Place, Central Division. Eighth Place (Tie) Overall.

Leading scorers: Bobby Reynolds, (24g, 59a, 83 pts.), Rob Valicevic (32g, 44a, 76 pts.) and Mike Kinnie (33g, 38a, 71pts.) Penalty minutes leader is Kam White (211). Kinnie leads all rookies in points (71), goals (33), power play goals (15) and shooting percentage (.200). Reynolds is currently second in league scoring and only three points behind Adirondack's Hugo Belanger. Valicevic has five short-handed goals, second best in the UHL. Generals are currently fifth overall on the power play and fourth overall in penalty killing.
