Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Steve Martinson announced Monday that the United Hockey League club has loaned goaltender Michel Robinson to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. The IceHogs were also assigned goaltender Seamus Kotyk and winger Brandon Segal.
Kotyk will make his second go-round with the IceHogs. The fourth year goaltender appeared in four games with Rockford in late January, through early February, and had a record of 3-1-0 with a save percentage of .971 and a goals against average of 0.76.
With Milwaukee this season, Kotyk was 8-5-0 with an .891 save percentage and a 2.93 goals against average. Kotyk is expected to remain with the IceHogs through Wednesday's game in Missouri against the River Otters. If Kotyk appears in two more games with Rockford, he will become playoff eligible.
Segal, a second year skater and fourth round draft pick (#102 overall) by the Nashville Predators in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, will help boast the IceHogs offense for the playoff run. The North Delta, British Columbia native appeared in 44 games last season with Milwaukee as a rookie, scoring 11g-10a-21pts. This season, the 6'2" winger has 7g-8a-15pts in 55 games.
"Right now, it's just what the doctor ordered," said Martinson. "Brandon's a big guy who can score and we look to have him contribute offensively for us."
For the second time in a week Robinson was loaned back to Milwaukee. The second year goalie was loaned last Thursday before returning for Sunday's game against Elmira. Robinson will suit up for Milwaukee tomorrow night when the Admirals host the Manitoba Moose at the Bradley Center.
Next Home Game: Monday, March 14 vs. Kansas City Outlaws. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs and Outlaws wrap up their season series in a game rescheduled from Saturday, April 9.
