Flames Set Franschise Record for Longest Unbeaten Streak

Moline, IL- The Flames went 1-0-2-0 last week to extend their unbeaten streak to a franchise record six games. The Flames have not lost in regulation since November 15th. Last Wednesday, Quad City scored three times in the third period to earn a regulation point in a 4-3 overtime loss to Iowa. On Friday, the Flames topped San Antonio 6-4 while tying a franchise record for goals and power-play goals (three). The week wrapped up with another three goal third period in a 4-3 overtime loss to Chicago.

The Flames are on home ice on Friday night to face Rockford. It marks the fourth meeting of the season between the two rivals. On Saturday, the Flames head to Peoria to face the Rivermen.

Wednesday, November 26th - Iowa Chops 4 at Quad City Flames 3 Overtime

A thrilling third period comeback earned the Flames a point during a 4-3 overtime loss on Wednesday vs. Iowa. Kris Chucko scored twice to cap the comeback after Dan Ryder opened the scoring with his second goal of the season. Iowa's Josh Green won the game with his eighth tally of the season just 21 seconds into the extra frame. The Chops hopped out to a 2-0 lead on first period goals by Eric Boguniecki and Drew Miller. Boguniecki scored a power-play goal on the rebound after Flames netminder Leland Irving had denied Matt Beleskey on his initial shot. Iowa stretched their lead when Miller added a tally three minutes later. Miller scored following a nifty set-up by Joakim Lindstrom. The Swedish forward dangled through the left wing circle before setting up Miller at the left wing post. The Chops held their two-goal advantage through the game's opening 20 minutes. Despite outshooting the Chops 13-4, the Flames were unable to score in the middle frame. Iowa was held scoreless as well and the teams began the final 20 minutes with the Chops holding a 2-0 edge. The Chops extended their lead to 3-0 when Petteri Wirtanen scored on a shot from the left wing circle at 1:35 of the third period. Following Wirtanen's tally, the Flames offense exploded for three goals in a span of just over seven minutes to tie the game. Dan Ryder scored with an assist to Carsen Germyn following a Chops turnover. Three minutes later, Kris Chucko scored a power-play goal to pull the Flames to within one. Chucko converted again on a goal-mouth scramble at 16:06 of the third to tie the game at three and force the Flames third overtime appearance of the season. In the overtime, the Chops scored a transition goal during a 3-on-1 rush. T.J. Trevelyan fed Josh Green who beat Irving to give the Chops the win by a final of 4-3.

Friday, November 28th - San Antonio Rampage 4 at Quad City Flames 6

The Flames tied a trio of franchise record on Friday night with a 6-4 win over San Antonio. The team matched previous franchise bests for goals (six) and power-play goals (three) while Carsen Germyn matched a franchise record for points and assists in a game with four. Quad City and San Antonio also combined to set a Flames franchise record for most combined goals in a game. The six pack of Flames goals came off the sticks of six different goal scorers including Dan Ryder, Matt Pelech, Aki Seitsonen, David Van der Gulik, Kyle Greentree and Jamie Lundmark. Quad City is now unbeaten in their last five games (3-0-1-1). The Flames stormed out to a 5-1 lead after 20 minutes as the squad set a franchise record for goals in a single period. Dan Ryder started the scoring by scoring his third goal of the year by following the rebound of his own shot. Matt Pelech added his first goal of the year on a blast from the high slot just 1:03 later. Jeff Hoggan put the Rampage on the board just 29 seconds after Pelech's goal. Hoggan scored off the rebound from a Sean Sullivan point shot. The Flames responded quickly following Hoggan's goal. Aki Seitsonen scored on a goal-mouth scramble just 39 seconds after the San Antonio tally and the Flames restored their two-goal lead. The Flames extended their lead on a pair of power-play tallies. David Van der Gulik scored when his centering pass deflected into the San Antonio net during a 5-on-3 power play. Kyle Greentree followed just 68 seconds later when he scored on a cross-ice feed from Jamie Lundmark during a 5-on-4 power play. The Flames skated back to the dressing room with a four-goal lead after one period. The Rampage drew to within three at 1:12 of the second period when Sean Sullivan scored on a shot from the circle. The Flames answered quickly when Jamie Lundmark scored a power-play goal off a feed from Anders Eriksson. The tally tied franchise records for power-play goals in a game (three) and total goals in a game (six). The Rampage netted their third goal of the night at 5:06 of the middle frame when Jeff Hoggan scored during a 5-on-3 power play. The second period ended with the Flames holding a 6-3 edge. The lone goal of the third period was score at 10:26 of the frame when Alexander Nikulin converted on a rebound chance for his third goal of the year. The tally established a new franchise record for most combined goals in a Flames game and set the final at 6-4.

Saturday, November 29th - Quad City Flames 3 at Chicago Wolves 4 Overtime

A thrilling Flames comeback earned the team a regulation point in a 4-3 overtime loss to Chicago on Saturday at Allstate Arena. Jamie Lundmark, Kris Chucko and Kyle Greentree combined to score three times in a span of 2:09 late in the third to gain a standings point. Brett Sterling ruined the Flames comeback by scoring his second goal of the night for the Wolves at 1:18 of the extra session. The Wolves capture the lead on a breakaway goal by Brett Sterling at 8:45 of the second period. Streling captured a loose puck at the Chicago blueline and darted in alone on Flames netminder Matt Keetley. Sterling scored his fourth goal of the year to put his team in front. The tally stood up as the only goal of the first two frames. A wild third period began with back-to-back goals by the Wolves. Jeff Hamilton netted his second goal of the season on a shot from the high slot during a Chicago power play. Riley Holzapfel scored after finding a loose puck in the slot to put Chicago up 3-0 with 12:05 to play. The Flames roared back with a trio of goals separated by just 2:09 beginning at 14:42 of the closing frame. Jamie Lundmark scored on a goal-mouth scramble at 14:42 of the frame to begin the comeback. Kris Chucko tipped home a Brett Palin point shot just 1:18 later to pull the Flames to within one. Kyle Greentree capped the comeback when he scored on a Kris Chucko feed from behind the Chicago net. The three-goal flurry earned the Flames a regulation point and force an overtime session. Just 1:18 into the extra frame, Brett Sterling fire a shot into the Quad City net to win the game for the Wolves. Sterling scored after dangling in the Flames zone and shooting from the left wing circle.
