Rochester (3-17-0-2, 8 points) enters the week after collecting three points over the course of a three-game weekend. The Amerks began their four-game in five-night stretch with the first of two tilts with the Toronto Marlies last week. Rochester first fell victim in a 3-1 loss Wednesday morning and then again last night in a 4-3 shootout decision. First-year forward Michal Repik led the way with a two-point performance (1+1) Sunday evening to garner third star honors.
The Amerks earned their third win of the season on Friday night with a 2-1 victory over the Lake Erie Monsters at The Blue Cross Arena. Dan Collins and Repik each contributed a goal in the matchup to snap a seven-game losing streak. Andrew Sweetland picked up his first professional point with an assist on Repik's goal. The following night, Rochester fell short to the Grand Rapids Griffins 3-1 in a North Division contest at Van Andel Arena, with Stefan Meyer tallying the Amerks' lone goal.
Amerks General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Florida Panthers have recalled forward Kenndal McArdle. The recall is McArdle's first ever in his professional career.
McArdle, 21, receives his first promotion to the National Hockey League and may appear in the lineup for the Panthers as Florida visits the Washington Capitals on Tuesday, December 2nd. Faceoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Verizon Center.
In 22 American Hockey League contests with the Amerks this season, the 5-foot-11, 205-pound forward has registered three goals and seven assists for 10 points to go along with 51 penalty minutes. The Toronto, Ontario, native was a first-round selection (20th overall) by the Florida Panthers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Repik, who has four points (2+2) in his last three games, paces Rochester's offense with a team-high six goals and 13 points, while his seven assists ties him for second. The special teams extraordinaire also leads the team in power play goals, as five of his six tallies have come on the man advantage. Fifth-year goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu has seen a majority of time between the pipes this season, boasting a .873 save percentage and a 3.84 goals-against average through 17 games.
Rochester returns home on Friday, December 12th as it host Peoria Rivermen for a 7:35 p.m. matchup. The game will be the first of two scheduled meetings between the two teams this season and can be heard live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.
The contest features 'Scouts Night', where All Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts along with their families, and friends can purchase discounted tickets at $10.00 - $12.00 depending on seating arrangements. All scouts will be eligible to receive a commemorative Amerks Scout Patch. Please call John Cochol at (585) 454-5335 x.3011 for more information. The night is also an Amerks Seven Dollar Friday, where fans will be able to purchase 200 Upper End and 200 Balcony tickets for just $7.00.
