Houston Aeros News Release

The Houston Aeros stay home all week with three games on the docket. Tuesday and Thursday the Manitoba Moose will make their annual visit and Saturday the Syracuse Crunch come to town. Thursday's game is the Aeros' Hookie/Kids Game beginning at 11 a.m. when business people are encouraged to take an extended lunch break to enjoy this high-energy environment with all the kids!

Not only will Tuesday's 7:05 p.m. game be one of only two chances to see the Manitoba Moose visit Houston this season, it will also provide a chance to win a Harley Davidson Motorcycle courtesy of 106.9 The Point. Fans can register to win the Harley Davidson Sportster 883 at the 106.9 The Point booth in the main concourse at Toyota Center during the game.

The Moose won both contests when they met in Manitoba in October but the Aeros still hold an all-time record of 44-23-10-1 over the club. Marco Rosa recorded four points (1 goal, 3 assists) and Krys Kolanos had two goals in the pair of games. Houston is riding a two-game winning streak and look to snap the skid against the Moose with back-to-back games Tuesday and Thursday, the annual Hookie/Kids' Game at 11 a.m.

Saturday, the Syracuse Crunch come to town for a 7:35 p.m. match-up as the Aeros try to exact revenge after the 2-1 loss in Syracuse last month. John Lammers scored Houston's only goal in the game for his fifth tally of the season. Overall the Aeros have a 4-5-0-0 record against the Crunch with a 2-2 home record. The Aeros have lost the last two home games and haven't defeated Syracuse in Houston since November 7, 2004. However, the Aeros are currently 6-3-1-1 on home ice this season. The first 3,000 fans inside Toyota Center will also receive an Aeros fleece blanket!

WEEK IN REVIEW

The Houston Aeros got on the board first early in the third period but fell to the Milwaukee Admirals 2-1 in overtime Friday night. The overtime loss moved Houston's home streak to 0-3-1-1 after the team started 5-0-0-0 at home. Clayton Stoner's goal at the six second mark of the third period, Houston's only goal of the night, set a franchise record for fastest goal in a period. The goal was the first of the game but the Admirals tied the game prior to sending it to overtime where former Aero Ryan Jones won it at 3:49 in the extra session.

The Houston Aeros snapped a four-game winless streak with a 3-1 victory over the San Antonio Rampage. Krys Kolanos netted two goals, including the game winner to help move the Aeros back to .500 with a 9-9-1-1 record. The game was Head Coach Kevin Constantine's 100th Aeros regular season game. Peter Olvecky's goal at 11:20 in the first was his 100th AHL point and put the Aeros up 1-0. Kolanos netted two goals in the game for his third multiple-goal game of the season.

Corey Locke netted two goals to help guide the Houston Aeros to a 4-2 victory over the Milwaukee Admirals Sunday evening ending the team's five-game home winless streak. Houston (10-9-1-1) earned five points over the weekend's three games, moving the club into a tie with Quad City for sixth place in the West Division, and only one point behind both Milwaukee and Peoria. Kolanos scored the game-winning goal to unlock a 2-2 tie in the third period and the Aeros now have a seven-game point streak against the Admirals (5-0-1-1). Goaltender Barry Brust relieved Nolan Schaefer and stopped all 14 shots he faced for his fourth win of the season.
